First, plan for either a sunrise shoot or golden hour shoot. Why? Because that is when you will get amazing light that ultimately defines the look of your photos. Additionally, you can count on less crowds in the morning vs. evening.  North Avenue beach is a popular spot for joggers, runners, bicyclists and obviously beach go-ers! It's best to avoid the crowd and schedule your engagement portraits early in the day. 

Second, there is quite a bit of walking to get to the best spots around North Avenue beach. So bring comfortable shoes that you can easily switch out of for engagement pictures.  Or just go barefoot on the sand!
